BFAR urged to assess and repair the damage on fisheries caused by Taal eruption

“We are calling on the BFAR to immediately evaluate the damage of the Taal Volcano eruption to fisheries and aquaculture, leading to reparation for the loss of potential income of fisherfolks and coastal residents situated along the stretch of Taal Lake. We presume that the latest eruption poses serious damage to fisheries and aquaculture as the lake is a traditional fishing site for tilapia, bangus, and the endangered tawilis,” Fernando Hicap, PAMALAKAYA National Chairperson said in a statement.

The entire AFP should own up and take responsibility on massacre of Lumad farmers – militant groups

“The recent massacre of civilians further exposed the AFP as ill-reputed war criminals which stemmed from state policy to carry out brutal and indiscriminate anti-insurgency campaign. It’s a punch to the moon to expect that the AFP would take responsibility or even show remorse on the massacre because the entire institution itself never regards human life and dignity,” the fisherfolk leader and former solon said.
