Bacoor City, Cavite – “We don’t buy the usual fire accident narrative anymore because it has been established that setting a community on fire is the easiest, most acceptable, and effectway to demolish an entire community to pave way for projects for development aggression,” According to the regional chapter of the national fishers group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA) on Monday, raising suspicion that the fire that hit a coastal community in Bacoor City, Cavite last night was “intentional”.

“All the DENR has to do is to acknowledge that this controversial beach nourishment project is actually a farce and is failing miserably. It even failed on its supposed objective to beautify, more so to rehabilitate Manila Bay as it is irrelevant to reducing the coliform levels of its waters. Moreover, the project has to be terminated to avoid further expenses,” Fernando Hicap, PAMALAKAYA National Chairperson said in a statement.
