Fishers group PAMALAKAYA demands continuation of ABS-CBN operations, while a total closure for POGO operations
While Malacañang is itching to resume POGO operations despite a strict quarantine protocol, a broadcasting network that delivers credible information and essential news to the public went off-air. Not only its franchise cancellation was an attack to press freedom, but also the Filipinos are being deprived of their right to reliable information especially in these trying times that we are closely monitoring on the updates of the pandemic and its health and socio-economic impacts to the people. Meanwhile, the government is allowing the unscrupulous POGO to reopen at the expense of the public health of its workers, and possible worsening of the pandemic.
This crude act of suppression of the press freedom and freedom of expression must be condemned in any possible way.
